Faith is the foundation that helps children grow in love, wisdom, and strength. At IC, our Faith Formation Classes are more than educational. They're a journey of heart, helping children form a solid foundation in Christ that can guide them on their path throughout life.

Confirmation Prep I & II: Grade 7 & 8

Disciples Den: Ages 3-5

Where little learners grow into little disciples through play, storytelling, songs, & crafts.

What is OCIA?

The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) is a parish supported journey that welcomes adolescents and adults who have not been baptized (catechumens) or youth and adults who have been baptized in another Christian tradition (candidates), and baptized Catholics who did not complete their full initiation into the Catholic Church. For information on OCIA for children and adults please call the Faith Formation office.

Who should come?

  • Those not yet baptized and those seeking information about becoming Catholic.
  • Those baptized in another Christian denomination who desire full communion and membership in the Catholic Church.
  • Adult Catholics that have not yet received First Eucharist and/or Confirmation, or currently fully initialized and wish to update their faith knowledge and personal spiritual growth.

Do I have to commit to the entire year?

Not yet! The inquiry/pre-catechumenate phase is designed to provide basic information and experience with prayer and Catholic practice, so that one can make a decision to continue or decide that this is not the right time in their life. No one is ever pressured to proceed through the process, as that decision is between each person and God.

How do I become a participant?

For more information and/or to be included in the summer inquiry sessions, please call the Faith Formation Office at 725-1762. Our one-hour inquiry sessions will be held on Tuesdays following the 6:30pm Mass or at 7:15pm in the parish hall. Weekly sessions begin on Sunday mornings in early October. Call the Faith Formation office for specific dates. We hope to see YOU!
